(Full Session includes all Sundays between 10/15/17 and 12/17/17, except Thanksgiving Sunday, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve).
- Strength, Balance, Peace and Presence: alignment and breath-based Vinyasa Flow and Hatha Yoga -
In this weekly class, Catherine Hamilton leads you through beginner and intermediate techniques with a balance of mindful, strong, breath and alignment-focused Vinyasa Flow mixed with deep relaxation and options to modify for every body, and every practice level. Along with endurance, physical strength, stability and flexibility, students will also develop and refine the skills necessary to listen to their own bodies' day-to-day needs, energy levels, and limitations, all without judgement. This way they can walk away from class feeling centered, calm, balanced, and ready to face whatever life throws their way.
Catherine grew up in the San Fernando Valley and began practicing yoga in 2009 as a form of rehabilitation to help with life-long chronic pain she experienced associated with tendon weakness and joint hyper-mobility. In her first introduction to yoga, she was the weakest and most inflexible person in the room but something about the practice kept calling her back. After a few weeks, she was hooked! Since then she has practiced several modalities with teachers from all over the world including Hatha, Iyengar, Bikram, Restorative, Yin, Ashtanga, Jivamukti, Sivananda, AcroYoga and Vinyasa Flow, to name a few.
In 2013 she completed her first yoga teacher training at Inner Power Yoga, in Woodland Hills, and has been teaching Hatha and Vinyasa Flow for the past three years, both in her hometown of Los Angeles and also in the United Kingdom, where she lived for several years with her English husband, Mike Richmond. She also works full time in documentary television as an Assistant Editor for major networks and fully understands the need to find balance and peace in a busy life style.
