Ink Brush Drawing

Instructor: Miles Yoshida

Max: 25 Students

June 4th, 2-6PM

(Please arrive 20 minutes early. Parking is residential and easy. )

Miles is a sculptor and graphic artist who uses a remarkably vital adaptation of Renaissance ink drawing techniques. Enamored of the German artist Albrecht Durer, he's created a methodical yet organic procedure for producing ink brush drawings, while focusing on hand portraits. This is a great opportunity for students who have always admired Renaissance ink work but who have never had the opportunity to attempt it under a teacher who's cultivated real insights into its execution and value. In this workshop, students will be given the materials and techniques to sensitively transfer their preparatory sketches to the finesse of a final ink drawing.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CLASS PRICE INCLUDES A MATERIALS KIT, DESCRIBED AT BOTTOM.

THE WORKSHOP WILL INCLUDE:

I. A presentation of Miles's work and biography, with audience Q & A - 20 minutes
